Department Introduction
The biotechnology and chemical engineering industry encompasses a range of genuine and high value-added sectors, from the petroleum, semiconductor, and display industries responsible for Korea's present to the pharmaceutical industry responsible for Korea's future and the advanced bio-industry that utilizes stem cells and immune cells.
Furthermore, the specialization and sophistication of sectors promoted by the 4th Industrial Revolution require specialized personnel in biotechnology and chemical engineering. We foster field-oriented talents by operating a systematic theory and sufficient experimental practice curriculum to foster creative talents that are the mainstay of these industries.

We aim to foster field-oriented creative talents with job competencies related to the production and quality control of biopharmaceuticals and fine chemicals and research and development.

Career after graduation
There are 4 main career paths for our majors after graduation. First, employment in biotechnology-related companies. Second, employment in the pharmaceutical industry. Third, employment in companies related to fine chemicals. The last option is to graduate school after completing the major enhancement course.
The biotechnology and chemical engineering industries are the present and future of the Korean industry. We have the advantage of operating a one-year major deepening course after graduating from the third-year bachelor's program, which allows students to obtain a bachelor's degree.
After graduating from the third year of the bachelor's program, many students are employed by traditional pharmaceutical companies such as Hanmi Pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical companies such as Celltrion. Many graduates are also employed by cosmetics companies such as Korea Kolma and fine chemical material companies such as semiconductor materials and equipment companies. Most jobs involve quality control, test analysis, or research assistants.
