Department Introduction
CoDe_Communication design hidden in form and expression
Code is a unique way to create language and new meaning from a unique perspective to communicate with others. The Department of Communication Design provides students with the education to plan and execute this unique perspective.
To cultivate human resources suitable for the 21st century, an era of emotion and culture, the department aims to cultivate high-concept and high-touch based on high-tech skills. The Department of Communication Design operates a three-year curriculum divided into primary, intermediate, and advanced/professional stages. In the primary stage, students acquire general knowledge and basic programs related to visual design. In the intermediate/professional stage, students are exposed to trends in various fields and experience the total design process for creating storyful visual results in cooperation with industry and academia. Based on the 4 educational objectives of the systematic course, we aim to enable practice-oriented professionals by expanding the field of UX-based interfaces to foster visual designers who can cope with the flow of the multimedia era with design sensitivity and scientific desire in all fields of industry and culture.
Educational Objectives
We analyze the demands of students, design industry companies, national strategies, universities, and faculty so that they can practice digital design and visual design that integrates design, science, technology, and liberal arts. We provide specialized education such as ① Advancement of convergence education, ② Establishment of departmental information platform system, ③ 4C (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity), and ④ Advancement of employment system. The course aims to cultivate convergent creative talents who can design and implement design services and content for new creative industries according to their purpose and use.

In addition, based on the curriculum, educational direction, and educational goals in digital media design and visual communication design, we operate a practice-oriented design professional curriculum that leads to true creative freedom based on profoundly paying attention to the convergence of theory and practice with comprehensiveness and professionalism.
