Department Introduction
Cultivating future-oriented nursing talents who practice whole-person nursing
The Department of Nursing at Seoil University, the only comprehensive university in Jungnang-gu, opened in 1995, graduated its first class in 1998, and had its 26th graduation ceremony in February 2023. Based on its 28-year tradition, it has maintained the highest national examination pass rate and employment rate, and in 2017, we had the top student in the national nursing examination.The department has established a performance-based education system to continuously and systematically manage nursing education and has been externally recognized for the excellence of its educational programs by obtaining nursing education accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Nursing Education.
To achieve the educational purpose of "fostering future-oriented nursing personnel who practice total human care by cultivating professional knowledge and creative nursing practice capabilities based on human understanding and respect," the Department of Nursing is equipped with the best lecture and laboratory environments. It utilizes state-of-the-art simulators and essential laboratory equipment to foster creative, convergent, and personable healthcare professionals who play a pivotal role in developing Korea in a best-practice environment similar to a clinical environment.

As a human science based on humanism, nursing trains professionals who are essential not only in the medical field but also in research and education. Based on the basic concept of respect for human beings, we foster nurses who can contribute to society by honing their personality and knowledge. We also nurture nursing professionals rich in creativity, collaborative spirit, and leadership.
