Department Introduction
Civil Engineering involves planning, designing, and constructing social and indirect capital facilities such as roads, ports, railways, bridges, tunnels, airports, power plants, dams, irrigation drainage, water supply, sewage, and public transportation. These facilities are fundamental to the quality of life of modern people, protecting lives and property from natural disasters such as floods, droughts, earthquakes, and typhoons and providing convenience in daily life.
The fields of civil engineering are mainly divided into structural, hydraulic, geotechnical, construction, and transportation engineering, as well as surveying. Today's civil engineering is developing into a high-tech field that uses various numerical analysis methods, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, environmental pollution control, and computer graphics to build more economical, safe, and convenient public facilities.
Educational Objectives
Educational Objectives
Based on the university's mission of cultivating human resources that play a pivotal role in the development of the nation, the Department of Civil Engineering fosters construction engineers who can contribute to the development of the country through delivering character, professional vocational technology, industry-university-centered, and creative development education to students. The result is creative engineers who combine technical skills and practical (task) performance, are passionate about technological innovation and practice responsibility and sincerity.Education Principle
The Department of Civil Engineering conducts quarterly field trips to develop a sense of the field and theoretical lectures. In addition, to break away from the perception that civil engineering is a male-dominated field, we continuously strive to help female students utilize their feminine delicacy and male students utilize their masculine strengths. As a result of these efforts, we aim to cultivate and educate professional engineers who can acquire theoretical education for design and construction in the civil engineering field while still in campus and dedicate themselves to human welfare and well-being after graduation.Available Certifications
Civil Industrial Engineer, Concrete Industrial Engineer, Construction Material Testing Engineer, Surveying and Geospatial Information Industrial Engineer, Construction Safety Industrial Engineer, Water Environment Industrial Engineer, Waste Treatment Industrial Engineer, Cadastral Industrial Engineer, Environmental Industrial Engineer, CAD related certifications, etc.
